THE last man to score a Hawthorns winner against Arsenal has backed Albion to secure a famous double against Arsene Wenger’s men.
Darren Carter, who spent two years with Albion and is now with Preston, scored a long-range stunner for Bryan Robson’s side against Arsenal in October 2005.
Carter regards his second-half winner as the best goal of his career.
Albion beat Arsenal at the Emirates earlier this season and Carter feels the Baggies must fancy their chances.
He believes his record of scoring the last home Albion winner against the north Londoners will come under serious threat tomorrow.
Carter told the Birmingham Mail: “It was a great day. Even when we went 1-0 down we were confident.
“I came on as sub for Ronnie Wallwork and I just remember the ball sat up for me perfectly – it went in the one place Jens Lehmann couldn’t reach it.
