SIMON Cox has warned Wolves there will be no neighbourly favours dished out in Sunday’s derby - as Albion plan to finish as the West Midlands’ top team.
The Baggies are already safe and go into Sunday’s game knowing that a victory at Molineux could go a significant way to condemning Wolves to relegation.
Cox believes finishing as high up the table as possible will be crucial to the summer months, when Albion will be looking to recruit new players.
He told the Birmingham Mail: “We as a team are striving to finish as the top Midlands club - that’s our inspiration for Sunday’s game.
“It’s not because we want to do this or that to Wolves, or on the flip side, to roll over and let them have three points.
“It wouldn’t be fair on other clubs at the bottom.
“We need to go there and be professional and show we are worthy of being where we are at the moment.
“If we as a football club finish as high as possible then over the summer it becomes big kudos for the club.
“We might get a player we might not have ordinarily got, especially a foreign player who might not know a lot about West Brom, our football style, etc.
“They will look at the league table and make their own decision based on that.
