West Brom: Ben Foster will 'win points' for Albion says Chris Brunt

Ben Foster

BEN Foster is capable of winning points for Albion this season, according to skipper Chris Brunt.

The winger is pleased the club moved for the Blues keeper last week following the departure of Scott Carson.

Foster, who is on a season-long loan and will be unveiled by the club today, kept a clean sheet in his first outing for his club, in Saturday’s 1-0 win at Bristol City.

Brunt is confident the goalkeeper will prove a major asset, not least as Roy Hodgson has worked on Albion’s defensive frailties this summer.

“When Scott went we did wonder who came in,” said Brunt, who succeeded Carson as captain last season.

“I was sad to see Scott go because he was a good friend and I believe he was also a good goalkeeper.

“Of those available he was probably one of the best options and it’s a big bonus for us to get him.

“He definitely won Birmingham some points and he can do the same for us this season.

“We can’t go looking to score at least two goals to win games every week like we did last year.

“It was only the second clean sheet we kept (in Saturday’s game at Bristol) since the gaffer took over which isn’t good enough.

“We need to keep clean sheets and work on that.”
