JONAS Olsson believes Albion must improve their record against the Premier League’s big guns – even though it is unlikely to dictate the club’s destiny this season.
The Baggies were comprehensively defeated by Arsenal on Saturday, just a week after losing to Liverpool at The Hawthorns.
Albion won both fixtures last season.
Although they are always likely to be regarded as underdogs going into such games, Olsson is aware that failure to gain points from the fixtures raises the importance of other games.
Albion’s next five matches include those against the three clubs occupying the relegation positions, starting with Bolton a week on Saturday.
Olsson, who hopes to be part of the Sweden side which takes on England next Tuesday, is adamant confidence will not be affected despite Albion’s recent failures.
He believes the bigger challenges will come in the coming weeks, where Albion enter fixtures they will be expected to take points from.
“It always knocks your confidence a little bit when you lose back-to-back games,” said the giant centre-half.
