JONAS Olsson believes Albion’s more disciplined defensive structure is a team effort – starting with the two strikers, Shane Long and Peter Odemwingie.

The Boxing Day draw with Manchester City showed just how much Albion have come on defensively since Roy Hodgson’s appointment.

Match Of The Day’s sofa pundits highlighted Albion’s massed defensive shape, emphasising why City had struggled to pick a way through their ranks.

Albion’s backline has been much improved this year, with recent goals at home being conceded due to individual errors more than lapses by the team unit.

Olsson said: “Organisation has been vital, definitely. We conceded two goals against Wigan but in most of the games we have been looking quite solid and conceded unusual goals.
