Stourbridge 1 Wolves 4

A BRACE from Liam Hughes, either side of strikes by Sam Winnall and David Ijaha, saw Wolves home as comfortable winners in a rain-swept Birmingham Senior Cup quarter-final at Stourbridge last night.

Wolves' passage to the last four began in the 12th minute when Hughes, who recently enjoyed a loan spell with Bury, shot low past home keeper Lewis Solly.

Andy Wright then headed against the woodwork as the BGB Division One leaders went in search of an equaliser.

But two further goals from the visitors before the break made the second half a formality.

Sam Winnall struck in the 27th minute when he converted from close range after Hughes had headed an Alex Melbourne cross into his path.

Then Winnall turned provider by setting up an easy chance for David Ijaha seven minutes before the interval.

Hughes struck again in the 82nd minute when he ran through the home defence before producing a clinical finish, and home substitute Rob Taylor rounded off the scoring with a consolation two minutes from time.
