Ronald Zubar
A LATE header from Ronald Zubar plus an earlier strike from Sylvan Ebanks-Blake helped Wolves grab a share of the spoils after they twice fell behind to Norwich.
Former Molineux man Andrew Surman came back to haunt the hosts as he headed in the opener for the Canaries before Ebanks-Blake’s first Premier League goal of the season levelled the scores.
Simeon Jackson scored with his first touch of the game to put Norwich back ahead on 76 minutes but Ronald Zubar’s header earned the home side a point.
Mick McCarthy’s men had chances to win it at the death but the visitors had John Ruddy and some red-alert officials to thank.
Before yesterday’s fixture Wolves had not lost to Norwich at Molineux for 16 years and they kept that record intact.
No-one predicted that McCarthy would drop misfiring striker Kevin Doyle for Ebanks-Blake but it paid dividends in the end.
Supportive chants from the South Bank prior to kick-off fired up the Wolves No.9 who had their first chance of the game after four minutes.
Norwich looked comfortable in possession and passed the ball around nicely – just like fellow promoted sides QPR and Swansea had already showed this season.
In-form Steve Morison was a handful up front and after leaving Roger Johnson for dead he unleashed a shot that Wayne Hennessey tipped around the post.
Hennessey has made the most saves in the entire Premier League this season and the Wolves keeper had another busy night.
He could do nothing for Norwich’s opener though.
As Wolves’ defenders appealed for an offside decision, Wes Hoolahan raced on to Tierney’s pass and curled in a fine cross for Surman.
Unchallenged, the ex-Wolves man planted his header in the bottom corner to give the visitors the lead.
Minutes later the goalscorer went close with another header that Hennessey managed to save.
