WOLVES chief executive Jez Moxey today backed the Molineux faithful to continue to "stay realistic" ahead of another hugely competitive Championship season – stressing the importance not to get carried away.
Although Moxey was delighted at the over-achievement of reaching a play-off place last season, he has warned against automatically expecting a repeat performance amid his personal belief the league will be even tougher next term.
But he is convinced more of the impassioned and loyal support shown to Mick McCarthy’s troops last season could yet be Wolves’ secret weapon.
"I think even though there is an inherent expectation at a club like Wolves, at the moment everyone is keeping their feet on the ground," he said.
"No one is getting carried away.
"Of course the fans are pleased with what’s happened but not bowled over by it.
"Steve Morgan has got us into this position with Sir Jack’s support, but it’s not like we’re buying players left, right and centre.
