Elliott delighted to get off the mark

Stephen Elliott battles with Andy Callinah

STEPHEN Elliott admitted "they all count" after notching his first goal in Wolves' colours before declaring: "Let's hope it's the first of many."

Elliott broke the deadlock in Saturday's win against Cheltenham and forged an impressive partnership with Andy Keogh up front.

"It was nice to score, especially with it being my first for the club, and hopefully it will be the first of many," said the 23-year-old. "It's always nice to score goals whatever the game as it gives you a lot of confidence - they all count!

"It was a good run-out for us, I thought we played really well at times and passed the ball around neatly. I thought myself and Andy linked up well but there are a lot of good strikers at the club so everyone is on their toes and desperate to play well."

Elliott revealed he has settled in comfortably to life at Molineux.

"The lads are great, most of us are of a similar age and I've settled in well," he added. "I'm just trying to get a place sorted now so I can get my family down.

"With the football I just want to try and play every game and get as much match fitness out of it as possible to improve my sharpness. But I felt all right against Cheltenham, it was nice to get a run-out and now I'm looking forward to the next one."
