Rosa has hopes of a move

FRUSTRATED Wolves' midfielder Denes Rosa today insisted he would love to stay in England after acknowledging his future lies away from Molineux.

The pragmatic Hungarian international, the only one of four Wolves' players transfer-listed this summer still remaining at the club, has come through a nightmare 12 months after a series of niggling injuries ruined his first season under Mick McCarthy.

Rosa impressed after arriving in January 2006, scoring twice in 10 appearances, but had barely put pen to paper on a three-year contract before the manager who had signed him - Glenn Hoddle - jumped ship.

And while McCarthy is heartened by Rosa's attitude and willingness to work, and indeed brought him in from the cold as a substitute in the recent Carling Cup defeat to Morecambe, the Wolves boss recently admitted he doesn't fit into the team's style of play.

"It has been difficult because I didn't play last season," said Rosa.

"I wanted to show the gaffer what I could do but I got injured and then I'd set up a goal and scored for the reserves only to get injured again.

"That's how it went for the first six months and when I came back the team was playing very well.

"Now I'm happier because I played for a bit against Morecambe, I haven't had a problem since January and I'm feeling very fit.

"I've got the chance to play some reserve games but I have to realise it's very difficult for me here because the squad is so strong.

"I keep working and trying because I would like to play but the best hope of that is to go somewhere on loan.

"Hopefully I can keep my form playing in those reserve games and will get my chance."

Rosa, who endured a mixed loan spell with Cheltenham last season, would ideally like to remain in England at a club with a desire to play decent football.

"Everyone was very good to me at Cheltenham but their pitch is very small and the ball just kept going back and forward over my head," he insists.

"I would happily play at League One level, but maybe with one of the higher clubs who like to keep the ball on the floor.

"I would like to stay in England because I like the football here, but I realise it can be difficult because I haven't played for so long."

Rosa gets his latest opportunity to impress tonight as the reserves welcome Oldham to Molineux (7pm). ..SUPL:
