Andy Keogh in the groove for Wolves

Andy Keogh

ANDY Keogh received a warm reception from the Scunthorpe fans both before and after Wolves' first ever visit to Glanford Park.

In between times the striker did as much as anyone to help the Molineux men to a crucial win against his former team.

The Irishman, who moved from Scunthorpe to Wolves a year ago, was back at his bubbling best and linked up well with new boy Sylvan Ebanks-Blake.

"It was great to come back here and even better to get the three points," he said.

"We've been on a bad run and we needed the win.

"We've had a slow couple of months when we've not seemed to gel but today I thought we gelled really well and played some free-flowing football.

"Hopefully now we can get back on a run and show what Wolves are all about."

While admitting he will never forget his formative football years at Scunthorpe, Keogh believes he has improved since making the switch.

"Scunthorpe will always hold a special place in my heart, the fans have always given me a great reception.

"I appreciated the reception I got on Saturday and hope I was respectful in return."
