Elliott happy to stay in wings for Wolves

STEPHEN Elliott today admitted he doesn't mind becoming a Wolves' wide boy after another impressive performance on the wing.

For the second successive game Elliott was utilised on the right to positive effect, also producing a clinical finish as Wolves brushed Watford aside 4-1.

"I don't mind playing on the right, I've played there before and I'd rather play there than not be in the team at all," he said.

"The manager's given me a chance out there and I'm glad to take it.

"It's good when the team is playing well and you're winning games, that always makes it more enjoyable.

"I think we set our stall out straight away and played at a decent pace, it was a really good performance."

Elliott also believes goals from himself, Andy Keogh (2) and Jay Bothroyd have given boss Mick McCarthy a healthy selection problem with the Cup-tied Sylvan Ebanks-Blake to come back in.

"It was nice for all of us to get goals, a confidence boost all round," he added.

"We've got Sylvan as well and if we can all score some goals I'm sure it will give the manager a good problem in terms of who to pick."

Elliott's passionate celebration of his impressive finish suggests some of the crowd discontent towards him recently to be a thing of the past.

"The fans travelled all the way down here in big numbers and hopefully we've put on a good show for them and set the benchmark for the rest of the season," he said.
