Karl Henry: Wolves fans are tremendous

Karl Henry

KARL Henry today hailed Wolves' fans as "tremendous" - even though he has been on the receiving end of stick from them at times this season.

Wolves find themselves in the thick of the play-off race with six games to go.

But it has not been a straightforward or stress-free passage to this point, for Henry or his team-mates.

But after scoring the last-gasp winner at Charlton last Saturday, the captain just wants everyone to pull together from now on and collectively haul the club into the Premiership - maybe even via an automatic top-two place.

"At times results haven't gone our way and myself and a couple of the other players have come in for some stick this season," Henry said.

"So it's always nice to score and maybe it will keep the few that have been on my case off my back. So I'm delighted and long may it continue.

"We had great backing from the fans at Charlton. And although I may have had some stick, the fans have been tremendous all season - the home and away fans.

"When they get behind us, it makes a real difference, so we're pleased for them and for everyone involved with the club.

"We want to get up there and maybe automatic promotion isn't beyond our reach. You never know."
