Michael McIndoe looks to Wolves re-union

FORMER Wolves winger Michael McIndoe has repeated his assertion that he made the right choice to join Bristol City ahead of Saturday’s latest reunion of the two clubs at Ashton Gate.

McIndoe’s departure after a largely impressive six months at Molineux provided one of the talking points of last summer, not least as he suggested he was moving on to bigger and better things with the Championship new boys.

And yet thus far he has been proved reasonably correct, with Bristol City occupying second spot in the table nine points clear of Wolves albeit having played two games more.

“We’re not even considering the play-offs,” said McIndoe.

“To be honest, we want to win the league and even second place won’t be good enough.

“I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – I don’t want to be in the play-offs.

“Losing is heartbreaking and ruins your summer.

“It can be very hard to take and, after we lost to West Brom last year, getting out of Wolves was the best thing I could have done.

“Going out in the semi-finals affected the entire club.

“There’s only one way to make up for that disappointment and that’s to win automatic promotion with Bristol City this season.

“Getting to the Premier League is a dream and we have a great chance to realise it.”
