Wolves' experience will count, says Sylvan Ebanks-Blake

SYLVAN Ebanks-Blake believes the experience of boss Mick McCarthy and Wolves’ play-offs “know-how” will help in their bid to post a second successive Championship top six finish.

Tomorrow’s testing trip to second placed Bristol City is the first of six games which will make or break Wolves’ play-off destiny, but with a fair few having successfully come through this time last season new boy Ebanks-Blake is confident they will make it.

“We’ve got a bit of experience in the squad which will help,” the striker declared.

“We’ve got an experienced manager with plenty of know-how and the majority of the team were in the play-offs last year.

“They will have learned from that experience and we will go into it this year with the confidence that we can push on and go even further.”

Wolves dropped out of the top six due to midweek results for Crystal Palace and Ipswich, but have games in hand on both, with Ebanks-Blake believing current form is good enough to get right back in the shake-up.

“Actually getting into the top six gave everyone a massive boost,” he insisted.

“I’ve always harped on about what a good squad we’ve had ever since I joined here and we’ve got a tremendous camaraderie in the team.

“It’s no surprise to me that we’ve hit that vein of form and that we’re pushing on and teams should definitely fear us.”

McCarthy is likely to name an unchanged team from that which won at Charlton a fortnight ago.
