Wolves strike duo: Roar us on at Coventry

WOLVES in-form goal-grabbers Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Andy Keogh today urged the club’s fans to pack out Coventry’s away end on Saturday and roar the Molineux men to a potentially crucial victory.

Sky Blues boss Chris Coleman has already issued a battle-cry calling for Coventry’s fans to be in full voice at the Ricoh Arena as they hunt the win to guarantee Championship survival and now Wolves’ 35-goal strikeforce have responded.

Wolves have yet to register a performance at Coventry since they moved to the Ricoh from Highfield Road, losing disappointingly in each of the last two seasons.

An unwanted hat trick on Saturday will spell the end of any lingering promotion aspirations, hence Ebanks-Blake and Keogh’s call for support.

“Coventry is a massive game, they’re not quite safe so they will be right at it and not sitting back,” said Keogh.

“It’s going to be a tough test.

“Maybe it would have been better if Coventry had already been safe but as it is it will probably bring a better atmosphere because their fans are going to be at it and so will ours.”

Keogh continued: “The fans can make a real difference on Saturday if they get behind the team positively.

“At the end of the day we are out there for the club and for them.

“No one goes out there not wanting to do that so hopefully everyone will get behind us and keep it going.

“Our away fans have been great but that’s probably the same at every club.

“At home games there are more fans and more different opinions.

“Everyone’s entitled to their own opinions but I don’t agree with some of them!

“The more fans we can take to Coventry the better.

“It helps the lads to have that support because we want to get into those play-offs and have a chance to get to the Premiership.”

Wolves have a 5,000 allocation for the make-or-break clash, and 24-goal Ebanks-Blake is hoping for a sellout.

“The fans are going to be massively important in these next couple of games and we’re going to need all the support we can get,” he said.

“Let’s hope it can be a sell-out in the away end and we go on and win the game.

“I think they are desperate for us to do well.

“It’s understandable if they’re tentative but I just hope they can help push us on and be like a 12th man to help us get to where we really, really want to be.”
