John Iga joins Wolves' back-room staff

WOLVES have enlarged their back-room team with the appointment of sports scientist John Iga.

The new man has joined Mick McCarthy’s support staff on a full-time basis to work primarily with the academy players but also the first-team squad on occasions.

Iga, 28, who qualified in sports science at Liverpool John Moores University, will bring to Molineux a wealth of knowledge and experience in terms of injury prevention as well as treatment.

He has previously worked on a consultancy basis for Aston Villa and was helping out Preston North End when he came to the attention of Wolves academy manager Kevin Thelwell.

Most recently working at the University of Gloucestershire, Iga is a Level Two Anthropometrist with International Society for the Advancement of Kinanthropometry. You can’t have too many of those on board.
