Wolves set to deals for defenders
WOLVES are set to have their injury-depleted defensive ranks well and truly reinforced before the transfer deadline passes tonight.
With Jody Craddock and George Elokobi suffering long-term injuries in the opening weeks of the season, Mick McCarthy has found himself short of cover at the back.
So at least two signings are expected to go through before midnight.
Norwich City have accepted an undisclosed bid from Wolves for 24-year-old centre-back Jason Shackell while Preston left-back Matt Hill, 27, is set to fill the gap created by Elokobi’s serious knee injury.
As part of the deal to bring Hill from Deepdale, striker Stephen Elliott is likely to move in the opposite direction.
