Kevin Foley aims to keep up the good work

WOLVES travel south tomorrow fuelled by confidence from last season’s double over Charlton – which included a memorable 3-2 win at The Valley.

That thriller will long be recalled by Wolves fans for Sylvan Ebanks-Blake’s memorable goal and then Karl Henry’s last-gasp winner after the home side had pegged it back to 2-2 in the 90th minute.

Great game, great finish.

Now defender Kevin Foley insists Wolves are determined to maintain their happy streak against Alan Pardew’s side.

“It was a fantastic game there last season,” said Foley. “The boys showed a lot of character, especially after conceding an equaliser in the last minute. Then Karl pops up and scores and it was a great win.

“We did the double over them which was a real achievement as they had only just come down from the Premiership.

“We know it will be a tough game tomorrow because they have some good players but we will go there with confidence high after the start we have made.”

Foley will take his place in a backline which has three new options following manager Mick McCarthy’s business in the transfer window.

Jason Shackell stands by for his debut at centre-half. Matt Hill and George Friend compete for the left-back spot, although striker Stephen Ward did nothing wrong there when filling in for the injured George Elokobi against Forest two weeks ago.
