Stephen Ward to remain at the back for Wolves

STEPHEN Ward is set to continue in his makeshift role at left-back for Wolves against Crystal Palace tonight.
And the 23-year-old, a specialist winger or striker, is set for a medium-term stint at left-back after recent signing Matt Hill joined first choice George Elokobi on the injury list.
While Elokobi is out for the whole season following knee surgery, Hill has strained a knee ligament and will be sidelined for a month. So the capable way in which Ward has filled in at left-back in two games so far has saved manager Mick McCarthy a big headache.
Striker Chris Iwelumo, ruled out by a groin niggle at Charlton Athletic last Saturday, will have a fitness test before tonight’s game. Matt Jarvis, Andy Keogh and Ward ended the Charlton game with minor injuries but should be okay for tonight.
