Mark James handed call-up

WOLVES will have a literally “hands-on” role in England Under-21s’ bid to beat Wales in the forthcoming two-legged Euro qualifier after masseur Mark James was called into his country’s medical back-up team.

James, who has 13 years experience as masseur in professional football, has been at Wolves since 2005. But his deputy at Compton, Matt Wignall, will look after the Wolves players for the next week while James helps hone Stuart Pearce’s squad

“The arrangement is in place for these two games, some friendlies next year and then the finals in Sweden if we get there,” James said.

“It is always a privilege to represent your country at any level and I was delighted to be asked.

“It’s great for Wolves’ medical department that we have someone representing their country.

‘‘It will be good to work within the international set-up for the week for the training and the two games and see how they operate.”
