Wolves v Preston: Matt Hill aims to shine against old club
MATT Hill hopes he will get the chance to play against his former club Preston North End at Molineux this afternoon and insists there will be no holds barred as he attempts to guide Wolves to a first double of the season.
Hill joined Wolves from today’s opponents at the end of the summer transfer window and admits it is the fixture he has been waiting for.
And while the left-back still has several friends among the Lancashire high-flyers including goalkeeper Andy Lonergan, he says he will save any banter or text messages until after the final whistle when he hopes Wolves will have won!
The 27-year-old, father-of-three, said: “I think we are all looking forward to this game and me even more so.
“Fingers crossed I get to play but we have such a big squad. We just want to open the gap between us and the other teams – like Preston – who are pushing us.
“We know it is going to be a tough game but we are switched on mentally and the lads are well prepared for it.”
Hill will face his former home of four seasons for the first time since he left but insists he has nothing to prove to them.
“The only person I need to impress is the gaffer here at Wolves. He is the man who picks the side and I have just got to keep doing the right things.
