Wolves: Alan Shearer's my hero, says striker Sam Vokes

SAM Vokes is hoping to make his name as a Wolves striker by modelling his game on old clips of his hero – Alan Shearer.
The 19-year-old Wales International grew up watching footage of the England legend, who scored a record 422 goals for club and country, and hopes to emulate his form in front of goal.
As Vokes plies his trade in the Championship he is also getting some top tips from a source a little closer to home – his room-mate and Wolves 15-goal man this season, Chris Iwelumo.
Vokes said: “Chris and I may be rivals in that we are both competing for the same shirt and the same position up front for Wolves but he has been massive for me ever since I came here.
“We both came to the club at roughly the same time and were the new boys together.
‘‘We are rivals but we work together every day.
“We play in the same position and I pick up stuff every day from him in training.
