Wolves: New-boy Kyel Reid raring to make an impact

Reid, who signed for Wolves after a month’s loan at Blackpool where he impressed Mick McCarthy in the recent 2-2 draw between the two sides at Bloomfield Road, has already embraced his new team-mates.

He said: “I have been made to feel welcome straight away. I already knew Michael Kightly and I knew Richard Stearman from my days with England from Under 17s to Under 19s. He has been great introducing me to everyone.”

Reid, who has played nine cup and league games for the Hammers and also spent loan sells at Barnsley and Crystal Palace, knows he faces a battle to get in the Championship’s leading side with Kightly and Matt Jarvis in such fine form.

“I just want to be here doing well. It is going to be difficult to break into the team,” Reid reflected.

“Kights and Jarvo have been playing very well so I have got to impress the manager in the games I do get.”
