Mick McCarthy's rally cry to Wolves fans

performances at the minute but there’s no lack of effort.

‘‘And I always expect people to be supportive of players putting in the effort anyway.”

McCarthy admitted he may have to revise the total he thinks will be enough to see his side reach the Premier League after their promotion rivals have failed to take full advantage of Wolves’ recent form.

Wolves aren’t the only side to get the jitters and Blues and Reading may have closed the gap at the top of the table but they have failed to take full advantage.

The Royals have won twice in their last eight games and failed to score in their last two, while Blues have a similar record.

“I’ve always said 92 points and I’ve never changed my opinion from weeks and weeks ago when I said that tally would be enough,” McCarthy said.

“Whether that’s going to be the total or not now I don’t know because of the way people keep beating each other.

“Our important target is three points on Sunday and let’s forget about the rest of it.”
