Wolves 2, Charlton 1: Lisa Smith's big match verdict
“We were playing against a team who went to Reading and got a good result. They played 4-4-1-1 or 4-5-1 and they started really well.
“In the second half the only task they had was to try and clear the ball up to Kandol but I thought we did okay. It is sometimes not easy to break teams like that down. I mean, where do you find room for a pass when there are 18 men in one half? But I am happy.”
McCarthy was also full of praise for his deadly duo of Iwelumo and Ebanks-Blake.
He said: “Chris has always had our support and if he goes on a run now that would be fantastic.
“Sylvan has scored 34 goals since he joined us last January and I don’t worry about him at all.”
