Wolverhampton Wanderers boss worried by Nottingham Forest

Wolves manager Mick McCarthy expects Nottingham Forest to come out on the offensive when the sides meet at the City Ground tomorrow.

McCarthy's Coca-Cola Championship leaders thrashed Forest 5-1 in August and the east midlands side were beaten 5-0 at Burnley last time out, but the former Republic of Ireland boss is taking nothing for granted.

He said: "Go and look at their teamsheet - Wes Morgan, Kelvin Wilson, Chris Gunter, James Perch, Lewis McGugan, Chris Cohen, Rob Earnshaw, Gary McSheffrey on loan from (Birmingham) and Nathan Tyson - have I named any bad players yet?

"I suppose they will all be feeling a bit sensitive about losing 5-0 and had (manager) Billy (Davies) lashing them, so I'd imagine they would want to restore a bit of faith in themselves.

"There are two ways they can go - I'm not sure they can get any worse than 5-0 but it doesn't always work that you get beaten by five you come back feeling confident.

"But I haven't yet played against a team that doesn't get inspired from playing against us.

"We're top of the league and they all want to stop us. They need the points themselves anyway."

Forest do indeed need to get something from the game and only a victory will give them a chance of climbing out of the bottom three.

Matt Jarvis (medial ligament injury) is unlikely to be considered by McCarthy, while Davies is set to hand goalkeeper Iain Turner his debut.

The 25-year-old has joined Forest on loan from Everton until the end of the season and is likely to go straight into the starting line-up with Paul Smith making way.

The team above Forest are Norwich, who face second-placed Birmingham at St Andrews.
