Wolves v Birmingham City; Injured Jarvis hopes to return for crunch game

CROCKED Wolves winger Matthew Jarvis has set himself the target of the Championship’s mouthwatering top-of-the-table clash with Birmingham for his return after a six-week lay-off with injury.

The Wanderers winger has been sidelined, first with an infected blister on his foot and then with knee ligament problems.

At one point he ended up in hospital after antibiotics given to treat the innocuous blister caused the player an allergic reaction which caused his skin to turn red.

But Jarvis is relieved that his recuperation is finally going well and he has set his sights on the big derby game between the league’s first and second-placed teams on Monday, April 6, as a possible return.

He said of his recovery: “It seems to be going well.

“I had the last in a series of injections on Thursday and now it is just a case of cracking on with training again.”

Jarvis has been missing from action since the problem flared up after the Plymouth game at Molineux on February 28 – a game which Wolves lost 1-0.
