“Everything will be looked at after the Doncaster game.”
He is already making preparations for the Premier League for next season and is looking at his squad of players.
“There will be changes, of course there will,” said McCarthy.
“There’ll be additions to the squad, but most of the players who have played loads of games this season will still be here. None of them will be going.
“Darren Ward is on the list, Darren Potter’s on the list and Jason Shackell is out at Norwich – people like that will be gone.
“There will be some others but they’re not for public consumption at the moment.
“Sheffield Wednesday would like Potter and I guess Norwich’s situation with Shacks will be determined by whether they stay up after the weekend.
“As regards Charlton and Darren, it might depend on what they can afford to offer him in League One.
“But he’ll enjoy it there because it’s not far from where he lives, and he’s done well for them.”
