Foley's fantastic says ex Wolves man Keith Andrews

BLACKBURN Rovers defender Keith Andrews admits life will be tough for his old club Wolves next season.

But Andrews, 28, who made 65 appearances in gold and black between 1999 and 2005, believes if there is one player who can help their quest to be the next Hull or Stoke City and survive top-flight football it will be his Republic of Ireland team-mate Kevin Foley.

Andrews played alongside Foley as Giovanni Trapattoni’s side drew 1-1 with Nigeria in an international friendly at Craven Cottage on Friday and was impressed by the 23-year-old right-back, who was voted Wolves’ Player of the Season for 2008-9.

The game saw Foley earn his first full senior cap despite having been included in the squad almost a dozen times.

Andrews said: “I thought Kev was fantastic – he’s been a top player for a few years now.

“He’s been very patient and deserved his chance for Ireland.
