Karl Henry calls for mental toughness from Wolverhampton Wanderers

WOLVES skipper Karl Henry says his team-mates have to prove they are “mentally and physically tough enough” for the Premier League.

Mick McCarthy’s side travel to Wigan tonight looking for their first points after the opening-day loss to West Ham.

“It’s a big game for us. We want to pick up points as soon as possible because we don’t want to be sitting there with nothing,” Henry said.

“We’ve shown we can do it away from home on big occasions before and in this league they’re all big games.

“We’ve got to prove we’re mentally and physically strong enough to go to these places and pick up points.”

Roberto Martinez’ side were convincing winners at Villa on Saturday and Henry knows Wolves are in for a difficult evening.

“Wigan will be a good side,” he said. “Martinez got Swansea playing some great football last season and he’ll have Wigan doing the same.
