“But we have to go there and be confident. We were confident going into the season and showed plenty of positives in our performance on Saturday and will be taking those in tonight.”
Meanwhile, Sam Vokes is on standby to answer Wolves’ striking SOS tonight, admitting he aims to make the most of an unexpected opportunity.
The 19-year-old Welsh international could start at Wigan with Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, Kevin Doyle and Chris Iwelumo all sidelined.
Vokes came on for Kevin Foley for the final 15 minutes against West Ham and with Andy Keogh a possible starter in a deep role tonight, could find himself all alone up front.
“This could be my big opportunity. Sylvan pulled up on Saturday and with the injuries to the other boys, if the gaffer calls on me, I’m ready,” he said.
“We’ve got the midweek game and another on Saturday, so it’s a chance for me to step in and show what I can do.
“With the strikers we’ve got now, it’s hard to get minutes, so when I get my chance, I need to try to take it.”
