Wolves' Collins and Shackell go out on loan

WOLVES defender Neill Collins became the club’s final piece of business done in the transfer window when he joined Championship side Preston on loan with the view to a permanent move.
The Scotland B international marked his 26th birthday today with the move to Deepdale where he will remain until at least January 4.
Collins joined Wolves in January 2007 after a loan spell from Sunderland – following hot on the heels of manager Mick McCarthy.
He made 97 appearances in gold and black and scored ten goals, including a crucial strike against Doncaster last season as Wolves clinched promotion to the Premier League.
He was also on target last week in Wolves’ penalty shoot-out win over Swindon in the Carling Cup, scoring the winning spot-kick in a 6-5 success.
Wolves manager McCarthy has also allowed defender Jason Shackell to extend his stay at Doncaster until January.
The centre-back initially joined Rovers on a one-month loan but that has been extended to a window-to-window loan following his impressive appearances at Keepmoat.
