Birmingham City ban vuvuzelas. Will Aston Villa, West Brom and Wolves do the same?

Birmingham City have banned the annoying vuvuzelas from St Andrew’s.

But the rest of the big Midland clubs have refused to make an official decision yet on whether they will welcome the metre-long South African horns made famous during the World Cup into their grounds.

Each deafening shrill emitted from a vuvuzela has the potential to blast out 120 decibels – akin to the booming roar from a lawn mower or chainsaw.

Birmingham City Football Club has posted a statement on their website detailing the ban.

It said: “Blues can confirm that supporters will not be allowed to bring vuvuzelas into St Andrew’s on matchdays.

“An overwhelming majority of Blues supporters said they did not want vuvuzelas to be allowed at St Andrew’s.”
