Wolves rule out transfer fee for Michael Mancienne

MICK McCarthy says he will only consider a loan move for Michael Mancienne – and nothing else.
The Chelsea player wants a move from Stamford Bridge but even after two successful loans at Molineux he is not seen as a priority by the Wolves boss.
“We won’t be buying him. And they want to sell him. If they were loaning him out again then that’s a different matter altogether,’’ said McCarthy.
“I haven’t discussed it with Chelsea. From my understanding they want to sell him and he’s asked for a transfer.
‘‘They want to sell him rather than loan him.
“I’ve got no understanding but I would be interested if they want to loan him out, of course I would, but that’s up to them.”
McCarthy admits he still needs to sell first and would not be drawn on whether Chelsea’s asking price was too high.
“I’m not prepared to say,” he added.
He dismissed a story that he was prepared to pay £4 million.
“I would like to see my quote where I said I would be prepared to pay four,’’ he said.
“I am pretty good at remembering what I’ve said but I am red hot at remembering what I haven’t.”
