Wolves: Ebanks-Blake in bid to stay fit for whole season

SYLVAN Ebanks-Blake insisted his target for the season was simply to stay fit.

Mick McCarthy toasted the striker for adapting to the “mucky” side of the game at Everton.

There’s little doubt the Wolves striker has a spring in his step again following a tough first season in the top flight when he netted just two goals in 23 appearances.

“I hate talking about myself and it’s not about what I’ve got to prove – it’s about what we as a team have to prove,” he said.

“We want to show we can play in the Premier League and stay at this level and consolidate and build from here.

“That’s all that matters and it’s not about individuals.

“I love scoring goals – everyone who knows me knows that.

“But it gives confidence to the whole team, not just me.

“And that comes from getting four points from the first two games as well.

“We showed what we can do by battling back from a goal down at Goodison Park and not many teams will do that.”
