Wolves boss admits he faces a tough task in searching for a new skipper

Karl Henry

MICK McCarthy admits he faces a tough decision in finding a new captain to face Sunderland.

Karl Henry (knee) is out for two months, Christophe Berra is suspended and Jody Craddock (hip) won’t be risked.

The Wolves boss said: “It will be very difficult to replace Karl as captain with the influence he has on the pitch.

“Somebody is going to have to do their best to replace him. As to who’s going to be captain? That’s a good question!”

Craddock was back training yesterday with the youth squad after more than a month on the sidelines.

“He’s getting there but he’s got no chance of being fit for Saturday – he needs a game first,” said McCarthy who at least can look forward to Ronald Zubar (ankle) returning in the near future.

The French defender plays for the reserves at Arsenal this afternoon.
