Wolves dealt crushing blow as Jody Craddock out for 6 -8 weeks

MICHAEL Kightly could be set to hand Wolves a New Year boost even though he will undergo a second knee operation within a fortnight.

The club’s ‘Golden Boy’ is to have the same procedure on his patella tendons as he had done in Sweden on his other knee six weeks ago.

“He is having another knee done on December 12,” confirmed Mick McCarthy.

“The knee he’s had done feels great.”

Kightly is already making significan progress on a high-tech treadmill.

“He’s back running on the Alta G machine which takes the biggest part of the body weight off. He’s running on that and feeling good.

“Who knows? I might name him in my squad (25 man Premier League squad) at the end of January - I have no idea.

“It’s pie in the sky at the minute but it would be lovely if he has the other knee done and feels as good as this one. That would be great news.

“He’s better now because he has had this (first) op and it feels so much better. I think he has brightened up considerably.

“He is in good form.”

Meanwhile, Jody Craddock faces another two months on the sidelines after scans on his injured hip showed damage that was far worse than first feared.

“Jody’s going to be out for a while - it could be six to eight weeks,” said McCarthy.

“It’s his thigh and hip. He’s got a tear in it.

“He’s had it scanned and he’s got to have some treatment on it. It’s far worse than we thought and he will (be out unil) after Christmas.”
