DAVE Edwards is facing a race against time to play against Manchester City.

The Welsh international picked up a hamstring injury at Doncaster on Saturday.

“It may have been a bit of fatigue after the exertions of Chelsea and I just picked up a little tweak, but it’s not a bad one,’’ said Edwards.

“Hopefully I’ll be fine for the weekend or, if not, definitely for the next game.

‘‘I’m hoping to get back in training before Saturday and with a bit of Lady Luck I’ll be available for selection.

“I’ll be doing everything within my capabilities to be fit, working hard at the training ground on my recovery and doing all I can at home as well.”

Edwards, who scored against City at Molineux, says the win over Chelsea was ‘one of the best nights seen at Molineux in recent seasons’.

He added: “We’ve beaten a few of the big boys now this season and it’s been nice to be a part of it.
