STEPHEN Ward says he will be happy to commit his long-term future to Wolves and can’t see himself playing for another club.
The 25-year-old is only eight months into a three-year deal signed last May.
He has been hailed by Mick McCarthy as one of the bargain buys of his tenure after arriving for £100,000 from Bohemians four years ago.
“Long term I would hope to stay with Wolves,” he said.
“I love it here. I have loved it from day one really.
“Since I came here the squad and the team have gone from strength to strength. Every year we have improved and getting to the Premier League topped it all off.
“If we could stay here it would be a dream and if I could be a part of that, likewise it would be a dream.”
With the club looking to safeguard the futures of their key players, including Karl Henry and Richard Stearman, Ward’s contract will be looked at in the summer.
“You try not to think about it and try just to focus on the next game,” added Ward.
“It is at the end of the season where you evaluate where you are. At the moment I am enjoying my football and I am enjoying it here. I couldn’t be in a better place.
“Could I see myself playing at any other club? Not at the moment, no. I am enjoying it here too much and if we can stay in the Premier League all the better.”
Ward was a revelation as an emergency striker in recent games but is likely to continue to deputise for George Elokobi at left-back against Liverpool on Saturday.
One selection issue facing Mick McCarthy for that near sell-out game is whether to hand Karl Henry his first Premier League start in two months at the expense of David Jones.
The 28-year-old skipper made his return to the first team as a second-half substitute in the 4-3 defeat at Manchester City at the weekend.
