WOLVES head to Villa “without fear” as they look for a first win over their neighbours since March 1980.
So says skipper Karl Henry but Wolves have taken fewer points away from home than any club in the four divisions, winning one and losing 11 of their 14 matches.
Henry remains unbowed after Wolves’ recent performances against Albion, Blackpool and Spurs.
“If we can get points from our away games and try and win our home games we’ll be alright,” he said.
Villa are unbeaten in 17 matches against Wolves after Emile Heskey’s late winner at Molineux in September.
“I thought we maybe shaded it but they nicked it at the end,” said Henry.
“That was another of the late goals we have conceded.
“They have got some good players but we have to go there without fear and try and continue our performances of late.”
Lone striker Kevin Doyle will carry Wolves’ attack having netted eight goals in all competitions. Steven Fletcher (seven goals) and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake (six) also carry a potent threat and Jamie O’Hara is set to return.
“I don’t think we’ve been leaking lots of goals; our problem has been scoring them,” said Henry of the team’s 34-goal haul which beats those of Wigan, Blues, Stoke, Fulham and Sunderland.
“It’s a great time for the strikers to be coming good and finding the net as they have been.
“Doyler got a couple against Spurs and it was great for everyone to see him on the scoresheet.
