Wolves: We fear nobody - Richard Stearman

RICHARD Stearman expects a ‘lively atmosphere’ at Newcastle – but says Wolves fear no-one after delivering the ‘perfect’ game at Villa.

Wolves took eight points from four games before the break and head north confident of climbing out of the bottom three.

“Another win would drag a few more teams into it just as we did by winning at Villa,” Stearman said.

“We could rise a few places so a win would be massive for us. We’re confident because we’ve been down here for a couple of seasons now and know what it’s all about.

“We’ve just got to keep going and picking up points and if we play like we have we will get out of trouble like last season.

“Do we thrive on the pressure? Well, it would be nice to be in the top half of the table that’s for sure! We’re not fearing anything. We are confident in what we can achieve and that’s what we’re looking to do.”

Stearman called the absence of Kevin Doyle “a massive loss” but says Wolves will cope.

“He’s been such an influential figure in the way we play. His performances on the pitch will certainly be missed but at the same time we’ve all got full confidence in whoever the gaffer decides to pick, whether it’s in a ‘one’ or a ‘two’ up front.

“The other strikers available have all produced the goods when coming off the bench in games, so while we’re disappointed to lose ‘Doyler’ we know we’ve got great strength in depth in that position. I had to wait for my chance and I think that’s one of the qualities we all have within the dressing room.

“The boys don’t get too disheartened when they’re not in the starting 11 because they know if they work hard a chance will come.
