Wolves: Karl Henry upset at poor defending

Karl Henry

Karl Henry admitted Wolves’ defending was not up to scratch as they were crushed 3-0 by Everton.

The Wolves captain refused to blame the back four individually for the result by saying that it was the whole team that defended poorly.

For the first 20 minutes Wolves were all over the Toffees but, after Jermaine Beckford’s goal totally against the run of play, the game turned on its head.

Henry said it was disappointing to concede in that manner and said what followed was unacceptable.

“We were all over the place at times. The defending, as a team, not just the defenders, wasn’t good enough,” he said.

“We wouldn’t win a championship game playing like that, let along a Premier League game.”

Henry said that he was pleased with the way Wolves started and admitted they had a game plan which was originally working.
