WOLVES boss Mick McCarthy is continuing to wait for an answer from Thomas Hitzlsperger.

McCarthy wants the German free agent to complete his pre-season jigsaw but the former West Ham player is still assessing his options.
Hitzlsperger is not looking to commit until nearer to the start of the season, but Wolves remain well-placed having impressed during talks.
But new clubs – both in the Premier League and overseas – have come into the frame.
This comes at a time when any attempt to take Jay Spearing on loan from Liverpool appears to have nose-dived.
Spearing was a substitute in a youthful line-up that lost 3-0 to Galatasaray in mid-week. And later he told reporters that he intends to stay on Merseyside and fight for his place.
“I’ve got more competition to fight against now but that doesn’t bother me,” Spearing said.
“When you are at a club of this stature you know that in the transfer window they are going to spend money on buying top-class players.
“I’m delighted with the signings we’ve made. Adding Adam and Henderson to the squad is a massive improvement for us, they are both great players.
“From a personal point of view, I wouldn’t say them coming in puts extra pressure on me but it makes me fight more.
“I know I need to step up again and prove I can play alongside them or in front of them.”
Spearing believes the Wolves link may have been over-hyped in the media.
