Wolves: Mick McCarthy says fan support at Molineux can boost team up the table

MICK McCarthy says the ghosts of Swansea are long gone and that a packed Molineux can play a big hand in lifting Wolves up the table.

Wolves play three of their next four games at home with Villa, Liverpool and Albion sandwiching a trip to Queens Park Rangers.

McCarthy knows those fixtures represent a huge chance for lost points to be recouped.

“It should do,” he said.

“We’ve had great support.

“We had a minor blip when I threw my toys out of the pram and I was entitled to do it.”

McCarthy was referring to the October draw with the Welsh club that led to him hitting out at a minority of supporters who had barracked both him and the team.

But the Wolves boss says it’s in the past:

“I think before that and certainly after, the fans have been brilliant, notably against Sunderland and Norwich, when we were behind in both,” he said

“Let me tell you, positive atmospheres create positive results, negative atmospheres create negative results.
