Wolves: Beating Liverpool will change our season says Mick McCarthy

MICK McCarthy insists there’s ‘no panic stations’ at Wolves and says they are on target for a 38-point survival haul.

Wolves face Liverpool tonight and the boss said: “A win would flick the switch. Things change so quickly. The place will feel a whole lot different. We have to play as well as we can and stop them. We have to pit our wits against them tactically, technically and physically.”

McCarthy is keen on free agent Mark Fotheringham, who played for the reserves last night.

“He’s been about but he’s a good footballer,’’ he said.

‘‘He’s experienced, a good competitor and he’s a talker. He’s got a chance. We’ll see.”

Adlene Guedioura has joined Nottingham Forest on loan and McCarthy admits he is “sick” of the transfer window: “I will be glad to see the back of it,’’ he said.
