Sutton Coldfield man lays football pitch in his living room for World Cup
THE World Cup may be hosted by South Africa but a Sutton Coldfield man is so determined to watch the matches on home turf he has laid a football pitch in his living room.
Football fanatic Dan Taylor has spent hours laying 100 sq ft of turf in the lounge of his two-bedroom semi-detached house in Keyse Road. The 30-year-old, who lives with twin brother Andy, has painted line markings by hand onto the homemade football ground and is determined to keep it lush and green until the end of the competition.
He has not yet told his mother Catherine, aged 59, about the transformation at the house she owns.
But legal secretary Dan is confident she won’t turf him out.
He said: “God knows what she will say, but hopefully she’ll see the funny side.”
