Choose this for full-on Cabaret-style lashes. Just one application gives maximum glamour and the double brush allows for targeting. Choose between black, brown and blue.

Clinique High Impact Mascara (£15)

A limited edition for autumn, this black mascara’s brush is a little clumpy but it does give smooth application.

Illamasqua Masquara (£15)

Following the company’s Goth winter trend, this comes in a shade of Raven – i.e. black. It can be used lightly for a natural look or pile on the layers.

Yves St Laurent False Effect Shocking Mascara (£22)

This newly shaped brush separates and layers at the same time. It comes in a choice of six shades of black – but it is a bit lumpy.
