Sanctuary Spa Covent Garden Daily Spa Escape Body Lotion (250ml, £5.10)

A rich cream with ginger and jojoba which is absorbed quickly and lasts well with a pleasant scent, this is luxury without a hefty price tag.

4 stars

Eucerin Dry Skin Intensive Urea Treatment Lotion (250ml, £12.89)

This cream is thick and quite difficult to rub in but it is also effective for really dry skin. Best used on problem patches rather than all over.

3 stars

Next Cashmere Moisturing Body Cream (200ml, £3.50)

With shea butter and cashmere protein this is highly moisturising despite being a lightweight cream. It is quite heavily perfumed but great value for money.

5 stars

The Body Shop White Musk Libertine Body Lotion (250ml, £9)

Part of the store’s new fragrance range, this blends cruelty-free musk scents with florals and a touch of sweetness. It is absorbed easily and moisturises well with a layer of perfume.

3 stars

Elemis sp@home Pro-Collagen Body Cream (200ml, £49)

Packed full of natural skin boosters, this provides long-lasting hydration with an immediate touch of radiance thanks to its micro particles. It comes at a price though.
