Fashion: Time to say it with flowers
May 4 2009 By Lisa Piddington
Traditionally, we associate the May bank holiday with all things floral – and fashion is one step ahead by mixing our favourite flowers with a bucket-full of style.
This season, florals can be seen in jewellery, separates and accessories and are a glorious reminder of all that is great about this time of the year.
1: Bang on trend at House of Fraser is this striking yellow collar with delicate detail – a great colour for SS09 and collars have been one of the key pieces on countless runways. From the Untold collection, it costs £30.
2: Bargain of the week has to go to the recessionista’s favourite store – Primark. This garden print bow front dress has a great tulip shape and is a steal at just £17.
3: I love this striking pin striped jacket from Monsoon, with army-inspired, double-breasted buttoning and grey piping. With a real eclectic feel to it you’ll find this one will slot easily into any wardrobe, and it costs £50.
4: Go for a killer high wedge with these flowered beauties from Schuh, at £49. The espadrille-style heel is this summer’s key footwear shape, and these tick all the fashion boxes.
